After a star-making turn in “Red Riding Hood,” Kacey Rohl will next be seen in the AMC original series “The Killing”

The series will debut with a 2-hour premiere on Sunday, April 3rd at 9pm/8C

For immediate release – April 2011, Los Angeles – Fresh off an acclaimed performance in the hit feature film “Red Riding Hood,” alongside Amanda Seyfried, vibrant young actor Kacey Rohl will be appearing in the AMC original series “The Killing.” This new series joins the ranks of AMC’s list of incredible original programming, which includes “Mad Men,” “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead.” “The Killing” is based on the wildly successful Danish television series “Forbrydelsen” and tells the story of the murder of a young girl, Rosie Larsen, in Seattle and the subsequent police investigation. “The Killing” ties together three distinct stories around a single murder, including the detectives assigned to the case and their suspects, the victim’s grieving family, and the local politicians connected to the case.  As “The Killing” unfolds, it becomes clear that there are no accidents; everyone has a secret, and while the characters think they have moved on, their past still lingers.

Kacey plays Rosie Larsen’s best friend, Sterling Fitch. When Rosie turns up dead, it becomes apparent Sterling may know more about Rosie’s last hours than she’s letting on. “The Killing” airs on Sunday nights at 9PM/8C on AMC. www.amctv.com

Kacey’s chilling portrayal of Red Riding Hood’s friend, played by Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia, Chloe) in the hit feature film “Red Riding Hood” has garnered the young actor rave reviews from press and audiences alike. One such review quotes, “I just saw Red Riding Hood and was blown away by Kacey Rohl. She is something, a real raw talent. She could honestly be the next big Canadian exported star!” -Shawn Shapiro, Editor of Futureale.

Also set for release in Spring 2011 is the film “Sunflower Hour,” a comedic mockumentary that follows four puppeteers vying for one coveted position on the hit children’s television show Sunflower Hour. A documentary team following these social outcasts as they compete for top spot, gains insight into their lives as well as the lives of their families and the creators of the show, discovering that none of them have any business being anywhere near children in the first place! Kacey plays Satan’s Spawn in the film, a disgruntled Goth teen who is in the running for a spot on a children’s puppet show.

Kacey has had a busy year, with appearances in a multitude of film and television roles, including appearances on the popular Fox series “Fringe,” ABC’s “V” and a recurring role as a witch on The Hub Network’s “Haunting Hour.”

The charismatic actor has known as long as she could talk that performing was her passion. The entertainment industry is in Kacey’s blood: her mother is a playwright and her father is a television and film director. She was immersed in the theatre world from the time she was a toddler, and at just four years old, she was quoting Shakespeare! Her exposure to the ins and outs of the entertainment realm heightened her passion, and at just 14 years old, she began training with acting coach Andrew McIlroy to hone her skills.

She trained with McIlroy for 4 years before getting an agent, so she was well prepared for her auditions that lay ahead. Her preparation has paid off, with non-stop bookings since she started auditioning. Rounding out her resume, are roles in the upcoming Carl Bessai film “Sisters & Brothers” (starring Cory Monteith and Dustin Milligan), the popular sc-fi series “Caprica,” the Cartoon Network’s “Tower Prep” and the Lifetime television movie “Bond of Silence.”

Kacey currently lives in Vancouver, but spends much of her time traveling to LA for auditions. The pet lover shares her home with her two cats Lewis and Eli. When she isn’t busy on set, she enjoys relaxing by reading and writing, loves board games, and stays active with Yoga.
