The Promotion People is dedicated to providing publicity for the arts and entertainment industry. We specialize in publicity for actors, television and film production companies, and other related companies throughout Canada and the United States.

Our diverse experience in all facets of the entertainment industry allows us to creatively strategize each of our client’s publicity needs. Lesley Diana – Founder, President and Publicist

Lesley Diana established The Promotion People in 1994.  She is a Personal Publicist to some of Canada’s most talented actors, and is also an I.A.S.T.E. 669 Unit Publicist for many independent feature films. Her clients have graced the covers of Maxim, Enroute, Flare, Dolce Vita, Modern Dog, UMM and Femme Fatal. Television appearances have have included interviews on Entertainment Tonight, ET Canada, eTalk, Skye TV, CBC, The Biography Channel and national news programs.

Lesley's long time clients include Emmanuelle Vaugier, Fred Ewanuick, Gabrielle Miller, Terry Chen, Michael Eklund, Nicole Oliver, Cory Monteith, Wesley ‘Maesto Fresh Wes’ Williams, Zak Santiago and many more. She has produced many feature film Electronic Press Kits featuring actors Jerry Stiller, Brooke Shields, Peter Coyote, Wendy Crewson, Oscar nominee Abagail Breslin, Malcolm McDowell, Joe Lando, Kevin Zegers, Kevin Dillon and Tom Green.
Lesley and her team have produced some of the most impressive Red Carpet events at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games, the Vancouver International Film Festival and the Canadian Country Music Awards.

Her diverse career also includes producing television, and hosting a talk show. As owner of a Western Canadian retail chain, she was a finalist in the national Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. Lesley is also the author of a nationally published book. After graduating with a Bachelor of Education, she taught high school for nine years before opening her first business.

Tanya Tweten – Publicist

With over eight years of experience in the arts and entertainment industry, Tanya has become an advocate in combining business with the arts. Musically trained and educated in media relations and business at BCIT and Douglas College, she has also worked with some of Canada’s top entertainment talent agencies, including The Characters Talent Agency and S.L. Feldman & Associates.

Tanya has worked with nationally recognized clients, including Sarah Strange, Emily Holmes, Rekha Sharma, Michelle Morgan, Cindy Busby, Camille Sullivan, Conchita Campbell and health and wellness expert, Dr. Susan Biali. She also focuses on publicity for national television shows, including 'TVtropolis’ ‘Tube Tales: TV’s Real Stories’, Food Network’s ‘The Family Restaurant’, and Slice’s ‘Bulging Brides’ and ‘The Last 10 Pounds Bootcamp’.

Her clients have been featured on ‘ET Canada’, Global TV, CTV, ‘City Cooks’, ‘Breakfast Television’, and in national publications, including the Los Angeles Times, Hello! Magazine, Elle Canada, Chatelaine, Modern Dog, Playback, The National Post and Naked Eye Magazine.

Tybie Lipetz – Client Coordinator

After living in Milan, Italy, for ten years, Tybie is back working in Vancouver. In Milan, she operated her own communications company teaching business English to some of Milan’s top executives in diverse fields such as banking, fashion, law and real estate. In addition, she worked in some of Milan’s top fashion showrooms. While at LookArt, she assisted the director in numerous high-fashion advertising campaign photo shoots, runway fashion shows and backdrop design for fashion designers such as Iceberg, Armani, Ralph Lauren and Etro. 

While in Italy, Tybie also worked with CEO and President Paolo Bassetti at Endemol Italia, a division of the worldwide creators of innovative television, which  changed the face of popular culture with the introduction of reality TV. Endemol has a huge catalogue of the most popular programs on TV today. including such shows as ‘Big Brother’, ‘Fear Factor’, ‘Wipeout’, ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’, ‘Extreme Makeover’, and ‘Wife Swap’. In Europe, Tybie became spellbound by the business aspect and behind the scenes workings of the entertainment industry. Her outgoing and down to earth personality had her rubbing shoulders with Italy’s biggest stars and international celebrities, including Andrea Bocelli, Daria Bignardi, George Clooney and Spike Lee.

Tybie attended the Fine Arts Program at Bishop’s University. She continued her studies at Emily Carr and Langara, specializing in photography and mixed media while performing live art and exhibiting her works.

Since arriving back in Vancouver in 2009, Tybie has worked on the red carpet for the Olympic Victory Celebration parties, the 2010 Leo Awards, and is a contributing writer to the Mircrosoft/Thierry Mugler Womanity Project. She now brings her editorial, photography, styling and networking talents to The Promotion People.
